VOLCANOES &

Hot Springs

Nearly everywhere you will travel in Guatemala, you will be surrounded by one of the region’s majestic mountains or countless volcanoes. In fact, Guatemala hosts the most number of volcanoes in all of its territory, with 37 in total, three of which (Pacaya, Fuego, and Santiaguito) are active. Guatemala is home to the top two tallest peaks within all of Central America, both of which, Tacaná and Tajumulco, are volcanoes. The country’s natural beauty is due to its location along the ring of fire. Guatemala is right in the middle of all of the world’s action with 3 tectonic plates continually bumping into one another. This continual movement over centuries of time is actually creating the country’s landmasses (all of the mountains and volcanoes). An added benefit to the all of the geothermal activity is the natural hot springs found throughout the area. Several natural hot springs within the country have been exploited to utilize the countless benefits of the therapeutic thermal water.

Join us for an experience of a lifetime! Take a horseback riding tour of Pacaya, camp atop Acatenango for an unforgettable sunset over Fuego Volcano, or melt your troubles away in the therapeutic thermal waters. Contact us for the tour of a lifetime.
